REVOTION Remote: remote access to your camper, free and without a subscription

Preheat the heating, check the battery, see where your vehicle is parked: with REVOTION Remote you control your motorhome from anywhere via the app. The connection runs over LTE-M built right into the BRAIN. For normal use it costs nothing. No subscription, no mobile contract, no SIM card of your own.

Key facts

  • REVOTION Remote is the remote access of the REVOTION app to your vehicle.
  • The BRAIN connects to the LTE-M or NB-IoT network through a built-in SIM card. The SIM cards of all BRAINs run in one shared REVOTION data pool.
  • For normal use, Remote stays free for good. There is no subscription and no contract.
  • Over Wi-Fi, remote access is always free, with the BRAIN and the BRAIN Lite.
  • Remote works in 48 countries and regions, including 26 of the 27 EU member states, Norway, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
  • No account needed: you never enter your name or email address. Our servers are located in Germany.
  • To switch it on in the app: side menu, then REMOTE, then “Activate now”.

What can you control remotely with REVOTION Remote?

With remote access you see and operate everything you control on site. The app looks the same whether you are standing next to the vehicle or 500 kilometres away. Nearby it connects via Bluetooth; at a distance it switches to Remote by itself.

  • Heating and air conditioning: switch on Truma, Alde, Webasto, Autoterm, Eberspächer, Timberline or Dometic, set the temperature and preheat the vehicle before you arrive.
  • Energy: battery charge level and remaining runtime, solar yield and consumption.
  • Tanks: fresh water, grey water, black water and gas.
  • Loads: lights, fridge, water pump, awning and everything connected to your NODEs.
  • Location: the BRAIN has GPS built in. You can always see where your vehicle is.
  • Security: with the Thitronik integration you arm and disarm the alarm system.

So you no longer need to leave the heating running to come back to a warm vehicle. A tap in the app half an hour before you return is enough. That saves gas, diesel and power.

How does the connection work?

The BRAIN contains a SIM card that connects to the LTE-M network and, where LTE-M is not available, to the NB-IoT network. Both are mobile standards designed specifically for machines and sensors: for devices that send little data but have to be reachable reliably and permanently. That is exactly what a motorhome needs. Status values and switching commands use hardly any data, and LTE-M also reaches places where the normal phone network is weak, such as underground car parks or winter storage halls.

There are no consumer contracts for LTE-M and NB-IoT. Network operators only offer these standards to companies that connect many devices. So we take care of it: all BRAINs share one data pool that REVOTION settles with the network operator. You don't buy a SIM card, sign a contract or top anything up.

And over Wi-Fi?

The BRAIN can also connect to a Wi-Fi network, for example the router in your vehicle, at the pitch or at home. Remote then runs over your own internet connection. The BRAIN Lite has no LTE-M and always uses Wi-Fi or a vehicle router for remote access.

In which countries does REVOTION Remote work?

Via LTE-M or NB-IoT, Remote is available in 48 countries and regions. In Europe that means 26 of the 27 EU member states plus Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and the United Kingdom. Every country counts in which one of the two standards is available.

Where Remote does not work over the mobile network

Some popular travel countries do not yet have LTE-M or NB-IoT in our partner's network, for example Cyprus, Turkey, Morocco, Tunisia, Albania, Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Andorra and Monaco. There, Remote runs over Wi-Fi, for example via the router in your vehicle or the campsite Wi-Fi. Automations and the weekly schedule keep running without a connection.

Even in covered countries, reception can be missing in remote spots. The country list reflects the status of April 2026. New countries are added regularly, and we update the list here.

What does REVOTION Remote cost?

Nothing for normal use. If you control the heating remotely several times a day, check the battery or look up where the vehicle is, you pay nothing for it, permanently. There is no subscription, no monthly fee and no contract with a minimum term.

Over Wi-Fi, remote access is always free anyway, because it then uses your own internet connection.

For comparison: a separate LTE router for a motorhome easily costs 500 to 1,500 euros, plus a mobile contract. The BRAIN already has LTE-M and GPS built in.

We have deliberately decided against a subscription. An earlier version of this article said that a small subscription fee would apply from 2026. That fee does not exist, and there will be none for normal use.

The difference from Truma iNet X and other single-brand solutions

Many remote access systems for motorhomes are single-brand solutions. They need their own add-on module, their own SIM card with a mobile contract, or they become chargeable after an initial period.

One example is Truma iNet X. For remote access it needs the iNet X Connect add-on module and an iNet X panel. The first two years from activation are included. After that, remote access is booked as a package: €7 for 30 days or €69 for 365 days (as of October 2026, according to Truma).

With REVOTION, remote access is built into the BRAIN and stays free for normal use. You connect your Truma heater directly via the REVOTION Truma integration. You then control it remotely without iNet X Connect and without package fees, together with lights, tanks, battery and every other device in one app.

How to activate Remote

  1. Open the REVOTION app and the side menu.
  2. Select REMOTE.
  3. Tap “Activate now”.

As long as you are within Bluetooth range, the app keeps using Bluetooth. Only when you move away does it switch to remote access.

No account and no personal data

REVOTION Remote works entirely without user data. You don't create an account and never enter your name or email address in the app.

On activation, the BRAIN registers anonymously with our server and receives a digital key. With this key, your app connects to the vehicle remotely. Because there is no customer data, none can be lost.

We developed the backend entirely in-house, following automotive development standards. It is not built on ready-made cloud kits such as AWS or Firebase, runs on servers in Germany and follows German data protection rules.

The data from your modules is only processed once you have activated Remote. You can switch Remote off at any time. 14 days later, the related remote data is deleted.

Does everything keep working without a connection?

Yes. Scenes, automations and the weekly schedule run directly on the BRAIN and the BRAIN Lite. If the heating is set to start every Friday at 4 pm, it does so even when the vehicle has no network at that moment. You only need Remote to check in from the road or to switch something spontaneously.

Frequently asked questions

Does REVOTION Remote have a monthly fee?

No. For normal use, remote access stays free for good. There is no subscription and no contract. Over Wi-Fi it is always free.

Do I need my own SIM card or a mobile contract?

No. The BRAIN has a built-in SIM card that runs through the REVOTION data pool. You don't need to buy or sign up for anything.

What is LTE-M?

LTE-M is a mobile standard for connected devices. It transmits small amounts of data very reliably, uses little energy and reaches garages and halls well. NB-IoT is a related standard that the BRAIN also uses. Contracts for both are only available to companies, not to consumers.

In which countries does Remote work?

Over the mobile network in 48 countries and regions, including 26 of the 27 EU member states, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, the United Kingdom, the USA and Canada. In countries without coverage, for example Turkey or Morocco, Remote runs over Wi-Fi.

Yes, for remote access to the Truma heater. With the REVOTION Truma integration you control your Truma remotely without iNet X Connect and without package fees. With Truma iNet X, remote access is included for two years and then costs €7 per 30 days or €69 per year (as of October 2026). With REVOTION it stays free for normal use.

Do I need to create an account for Remote?

No. You enter neither your name nor your email address. The BRAIN registers anonymously and receives a digital key that the app uses to connect. Our servers are located in Germany.

Does Remote also work over Wi-Fi?

Yes. The BRAIN can connect to a Wi-Fi network, for example the router in your vehicle. Remote then uses your own internet connection and is always free.

Does Remote work with the BRAIN Lite?

Yes, over Wi-Fi or a vehicle router. The BRAIN Lite has no built-in LTE-M and no GPS.

Can I see where my motorhome is parked?

Yes, with the BRAIN. It has GPS built in and shows the location in the app.

How do I activate Remote?

In the app via side menu, REMOTE and “Activate now”. You can switch Remote off again at any time.
